Does the library have access to Harvard Business Review (HBR) case studies?
Answer
The library has access to select articles and case studies published in Harvard Business Review through our Business Source Complete database subscription. You can search through issues of the journal that have been published from 1922 to the present.

However, per HBR’s licensing agreement, these HBR cases can only be used for individual, noncommercial research purposes and cannot be used for classroom instruction or discussion. You can link directly to the journal in your course Canvas or syllabus, but you cannot link to individual articles or upload article PDFs.
Furthermore, the most popular HBR case studies are not published in the journal and can only be purchased individually from the HBR Store. The library cannot purchase these cases for you. If you want to use a case study in your course, you must register for an Educator Account and purchase copies for each student.
BGSU Library does have access to other databases and journals that include case studies that may be used for course instruction; you can learn more about them on the Business Cases guide. This guide also includes contact information for BGSU’s Business Librarian and Scholarly Communication Strategist, who you may contact with additional questions concerning copyright, course materials, or case studies.
